the year was 2008.

today i realized i forgot what year Tantrum Castle, my first sort-of-album came out. it was 2008, not 2009 like i thought (ha). it came out the summer after i finished highschool, while i was on tour playing drums in a band from indiana called saints never surrender. despite the terrible recording quality, beginner’s production skills, and cranked-to-zero chromatic autotune, some of those songs still have a good deal of importance to me. a bunch of those songs were about getting the hellllll out of fort wayne and trying to build something from the ground up. kind of just to see if i could do it. i really wanted the whole “tour nonstop” thing, and i got to see that happen pretty quickly, if not in a small way.. partially thanks to a few of you guys being into those old songs back then.

we did a remastered version of it earlier this year, and though it still sounds like it was made in garageband, it sounds a little better i think. if you’re interested, this is it.
