I always get excited when I get to come home, even if I haven’t been away for that long. lately we’ve been doing shows only on the weekends, flying around, acoustic stuff, and i’ve been working on new music out in LA. it’s always a good feeling getting to sleep in my own bed. i’ve also come to find that being home doesn’t feel much different than being away. hotels and buses feel pretty home-y at this point, but there is definitely a charm to being in one’s hometown for a little bit…. little bit being the key word. after a day or two i start to get bored/anxious/ready to leave again. that’s how i am at this moment, hence, writing this. i’ve been waking up super early to try to be productive, but i really don’t have much to do. i guess i just belong on the road. i’ve been getting excited for this fall tour with all time low, and the tour coming up after it.. i have a ton of cool ideas for production. looking forward to putting those in motion. for anyone who was unaware, i did get a tattoo. it’s of a firefly, inspired by my favorite band copeland. anybody who’s heard their first album will know why. they’re a huge inspiration to me. i didn’t post a picture or make too big of a deal out of it because i don’t think there’s much to gain looking for opinions on something like a tattoo. you get it for your own reasons, and it probably won’t be going away (unless it rubs off, which as impossible as it is, i kept thinking would happen haha). i did, however, enjoy reading all the debates over if i did get one, and what it was. simple joys. this is what it looks like:
